How to Make the Most of Pacific’s Admitted Student Day on April 12
Posted 5 months ago .

Pacific’s Admitted Student Day on Friday, April 12, is a unique opportunity to get a highly personalized experience of Pacific. Even if your student has previously toured our beautiful campus, we encourage your family to come and meet the deans and professors, talk to current Tigers and get a good glimpse into a day in the life of Pacific students.

Finding a college that is the best fit for your student can be challenging. To help your student be as confident as possible in their choice, we invite your family to really get to know Pacific. And if your student decides to confirm their enrollment during Admitted Student Day, we want to celebrate with your family!

Ring the Burns Tower bells

Committing to Pacific deserves a loud announcement. If your student confirmed before Admitted student day or confirms during Admitted Student Day, they will get to ring the Burns Tower bells for all to hear! Plus, your student will receive a voucher to pick up some Pacific spirit gear at the University Bookstore. And to top it off, we will have a photo booth set up where your family can record a confetti-filled 360-degree souvenir video.

Here are some additional tips on making the most of your visit.

Bring the family

At Admitted Student Day, we are excited to welcome not only your student, but you and your family as well. We have informational events planned specifically for parents and supporters, and the Lair at the DeRosa University Center will host the Parent and Family Lounge all day long.

Check in early

If this is your first-time visiting Pacific, it is a good idea to arrive early so you can familiarize yourself with the campus. Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. at Burns Tower at the Pacific Avenue entrance. Parking will be free all day and you can find parking lots on the campus map.

Many events, such as our breakfast, lunch, info booths and the closing reception will take place on Knoles Lawn right behind Burns Tower. Our morning welcome session will take place right beside Burns Tower in the Faye Spanos Concert Hall.

Go on a personalized tour

One of the highlights of Admitted Student Day is the opportunity to explore Pacific’s beautiful, 175-acre campus. Tours will depart from Burns Tower every 15 minutes throughout the day. When you arrive, let us know what you want to explore, and we will match you with the best tour for you.

All tours are led by experienced Pacific Tiger Team members, current students who will be happy to answer your questions. You will also be able to meet the deans of our schools and colleges and walk through buildings and classrooms. There will be a lot to see, so it’s a good idea to check the weather forecast the day before you arrive, wear layers and comfortable shoes.

Meet the professors

During our academic previews, your student can get a sneak peek at what classes at Pacific are like. These sessions include presentations from faculty members in the sciences, humanities, engineering, business and music.

Your student will have the opportunity to experience an academic session at the university. Plus, they will meet their future professors and some future classmates as well.

Ask lots of questions

We know you have a lot of questions, and we want you to ask them. Throughout the day, you will have many opportunities to talk to Pacific faculty, staff and current students. Many of them will be at the clubs, organizations and student services booths on Knoles Lawn during Pacific Fair at lunchtime.

Take some time to attend special interest sessions presented by Pacific’s Financial Aid Office, Residential Life and Housing Office, and Career Services, among others. Our expert staff will be happy to address your questions.

Most of all, we encourage you and your student to chat with current Tigers about their Pacific experiences. If you have a chance, ask them why they chose Pacific and what they really enjoy about being a student here.
